So it goes

One project off the needles:

It ended up a tad short - I ran out of yarn, but I hope it's future recipient will still like it.

Here is progress thus far on my Indigo Ripples Skirt (pattern by Kat Coyle in IK Spring 2007):

I think I might be about one third of the way done. I am using smaller needles, so my row gauge is way off and this yarn shrinks significantly when washed and dried. So, I am at the spot where I need to dig out my washed and dried swatch and figure out exactly how long I need to make this solid panel to achieve desired length. Well, that sounded complicated, so I decided to cast on for another project..

This is Raul's Cobblestone Pullover (pattern by Jared Flood in IK Fall 2007):

The yarn is Swish worsted weight in color lemongrass heather from Knit Picks. The yarn the pattern calls for is prohibitively expensive given our current budget, so we opted to go with Knit Picks, a yarn supplier known for their affordable prices, and I am happy to report this yarn is luscious! And it is machine washable and dryable. Heaven! You know, I am thinking that men's garments are much easier to knit - they require no shaping for hips or waists or breasts - you just knit a tube for the body, two smaller tubes for the arms and then shape the shoulders. Men have it so easy.

Well, your projects look amazing! Sounds like that skirt is going to be a bit of a problemo figuring out the shrinkage and the different needle usage. Now that green scarf looks sooooo cuddly and fun to wear. Woo Woo, wonder who it's for??? The sweater, seem people are really likin' green these days, right? A very good color, I'm wearing it today since my oldest daughter just sent me a necklace that is predominately green. Am lovin' it. A boy in my class today couldn't keep his hands off it and he liked my earrings and my shoes. Had to chuckle to myself. He's 9. I love you Shan Shan. Hope all is well there, has winter hit yet? Fall is definitely in the air here in Bishop and Jennifer says there is frost on the pumpkin there now. Susan is winterizing and Amy in Kauai is buying shorts at K-Mart and complaining about it because she wears an 8 or 10 and they sell bigger sizes that still don't fit well. Ha Ha. She's just not used to cheap shopin'.
Much love.

You. Are. Amazing. I cannot believe you find the time for such amazing projects!

I'm making good progress on the scarf I'm working on, and really enjoying making cables. NOT HARD AT ALL!!!

I'll send a pic when I get the chance!

Grandma - thank you for the kind words! Yes, very much loving green right now. Amy is coming full circle shopping at KMart, huh? It is getting colder her - the mornings and nights are cold, but the days have been beautiful. I love fall.

HiK - it brings me great happiness to hear that you like your slippers. Wear them in happiness, friend!

JPo - Very excited to see your scarf! The first time I cabled, I was shocked that I could make something that looked so cool with only minimal headaches. You are discovering the secret - knitting only looks hard!
